US Senate candidate John Deaton touts support from two billionaires, Musk and Cuba

Elon Musk is committed to helping Donald Trump win, while Mark Cuban fully supports Kamala Harris. But they found common ground in John Deaton’s campaign against Elizabeth Warren.

John Deaton is trying to position himself as a moderate Republican with a long-term goal of unseating Sen. Elizabeth Warren, but he is trying to position himself as a moderate Republican with a long-term goal of unseating Sen. , is promoting support for two billionaires with different political views.

Musk expressed his support for Deaton in a simple post on his social media site X on Monday.

Despite previous comments about the importance of remaining politically neutral, Musk has publicly engaged in this presidential election. He is currently campaigning on behalf of former President Donald Trump and has donated millions of dollars to Trump’s campaign. Under Musk’s stewardship, the platform formerly known as Twitter has grown in popularity among right-wing users. Musk has been accused of using the platform to amplify his political views, and X is now a haven for misinformation and conspiracy theories.

Meanwhile, Mark Cuban fully supports Vice President Kamala Harris. The billionaire businessman is scheduled to appear at Harris campaign events in battleground states and make numerous media appearances to attack Trump and support Harris. According to ABC News, Musk recently tried to set up a private meeting between Musk and Harris, but Harris’ team refused. Mr. Cuban recently claimed that the election would be a battle between Mr. Harris and Mr. Musk, and that he regularly uses Mr. X to express his opinions and spar with Mr. Musk.

However, the two found something in common in Deaton.

“Supporting two successful businessmen with diametrically opposed political views shows how my message of getting things done bipartisanally resonates across the political spectrum,” Deaton said in a statement. ”

Deaton said at a news conference this week that he didn’t “lobby” Musk for support, but was glad he did.

“If the richest man in the world, the greatest entrepreneur of our time, wants to say that John Deaton is better for the country, I would do that,” he said.

A key element of Warren’s popularity as a progressive is her long-standing argument that the super-rich don’t pay their fair share of taxes. She has repeatedly clashed with Cubans in public over the issue.

In an April post on X, Mr. Cuban said he supported Mr. Deaton and argued that raising capital gains taxes was not the right thing for Democrats to pursue.

He didn’t just suggest it. It has been in his budget proposals for years. There is no chance of passing. It was like Trump saying he would repeal the ACA.
Neither had a chance of passing.

Should he take it out? Of course I said that to people I know who are part of his campaign… https://t.co/TzExNTqYFv
