NewYork-Presbyterian won two Emmy Awards at the 67th New York Emmy Awards and Creative Arts Ceremony, taking home trophies for Best Commercial and Editorial and Short-form Content.
The winning commercial, produced in partnership with Havas New York, features Jack Foley, a young boy born with a rare congenital heart defect that prevents the left side of the heart from developing. Jack underwent three surgeries with pediatric heart surgeon Dr. Emil Basha at NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital, where doctors redesigned the way his heart beats. Jack is now 13 years old and an avid ice hockey player. As the commercial shows, a boy born with half a heart fights with all his heart.
“Being able to tell the stories of our amazing patients, the care teams and frontline workers who care for them is a privilege,” said Devika Mathrani, senior vice president and chief marketing and communications officer at NewYork-Presbyterian. It’s an incredible honor for us.” he said when receiving the award. “I want to thank the entire team at NewYork-Presbyterian and Havas for the dedication, energy and passion they bring to telling these stories every day.”
