The Washington Wizards started the 2024-25 NBA season with an 0-2 record. They lost their first two games to both the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers.
Both teams are quality opponents and the Wizards have nothing to worry about.
So far this season, star forward Kyle Kuzma has played very poorly. That’s been one of the concerns in the first two games so far. Washington desperately wants him to figure things out and play to the level he’s shown he can play.
Through the first two games, he posted embarrassing numbers.
As featured on X’s Legion Hoops, Kuzma made 9 of 32 from all over the floor and missed all nine of his 3-pointers.

Kuzma is averaging 13.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game this season. He’s averaging 28.1 percent shooting overall and, of course, 0 percent on 3-pointers.
Fans will be confident that the star forward will quickly turn his season around. He has been a deadly scorer for the Wizards the last two years. These two seasons were no fluke.
It will be interesting to see if Kuzma can start to turn things around in “Week 2” of the NBA season. Despite the usual slow start, fans can be confident that the 29-year-old forward will not lose confidence.
Looking ahead to next week, Washington is scheduled to play back-to-back games against the Atlanta Hawks before taking on the Miami Heat. These three games will be important for Kuzma to regain his scoring ability.
If he can get back on track, the Wizards should be able to play against these two teams.
No one needs to worry about his first two games. Kuzma will be back on track in the near future.
