Family desperately seeks return of father’s urn stolen in home invasion

Exactly one year after his father’s death, a West Los Angeles family says they are facing loss again after the urn containing his remains was stolen in a home invasion.

“It’s like we lost him twice, really,” said Lisa, a member of the family targeted in the theft. “I can’t even imagine that.”

The family said the theft happened over the weekend. When they got home, they found the front door open and went inside to find they had been robbed.

An urn containing the remains of the patriarch of a West Los Angeles family was stolen during a break-in over the weekend.

Almost immediately, they realized that the distinctive urn, made of polished wood with carvings of vines decorating the bottom of the container, was not in its usual spot, a memorial to their father, who had passed away last year. I noticed.

While Los Angeles Police Department investigators work to identify the person who may have broken into the home, the family is desperate for anyone with knowledge to contact them or return the urn to its rightful place. .

“They wanted us to walk through the house and look at everything and figure out what was missing,” Lisa said of LAPD detectives. “We don’t even care, you know, this… Our dad was such a huge part of our lives and we loved him so much. He deserves to rest in peace.”

The family believes the urn may have been taken because it wasn’t always easy to open, and police agree, adding that thieves are usually in a hurry and anything they get can be opened later. He points out that he is trying to do so.

“It breaks my heart to think that someone might have abandoned him,” she said.

Anyone who may have seen the urn or has any idea where it is is asked to contact Neptune Society Funeral Home at (818) 530-0700.
