Kimberly Classic shares her top priorities for winning a seat in the U.S. Congress

Kimberly Klasik, the Republican candidate for Maryland’s 2nd Congressional District, has been busy at her campaign headquarters in Timonium ahead of the general election.

Classic, a Prince George’s County native, is challenging Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski.

“Even though this state is a blue state, we have a lot of Republicans. I think we need to continue to fight for our values and morals,” Classic said.

Classic, who is not endorsed by President Donald Trump, said he is running a grassroots campaign this year, knowing he is campaigning in a Democratic state.

“When non-politicians like me are here and ready to take action, both parties are now in a position where people in their own parties are saying, “Let’s get together with politicians.” “I think the situation is ‘action’ and it’s a little less than people who have been sitting in these seats for quite some time,” Klasik said.

Election day is Tuesday, November 5th, and in-person early voting will be held from October 24th to October 31st.

Klacik’s top priorities

Klasik has highlighted crime, violence and inflation as top campaign priorities.

“I think our priority at this point should be the issue of crime and violence,” Klasik said. “I think it’s about our economy, inflation, and we should be talking about energy costs. We had a key bridge collapse. We should be talking about infrastructure and the need to restore infrastructure so people can get back to work. There is.”

During the 2020 campaign, critics accused Klass of exploiting Baltimore’s challenges for political gain after an ad highlighted the city’s woes.

Advocates praised her attention to the city’s needs. This time, Ms. Classic says she doesn’t need advertising to show that crime is still a problem.

“I never thought I would see the day when there would be a shooting in Rogers Forge or someone would be stabbed in Towson Town Center,” Classic said.

One of her goals is to provide law enforcement officers with the resources they need.

“That’s why I’m talking about the federal government funding our employees and making sure they have what they need for recruitment, training and cuts,” Classic said. spoke.

Mr. Klasik has expressed his strong opinion that stricter enforcement is needed when it comes to border security and immigration, citing the murder of Maryland mother Rachel Morin.

“We have to do something about our borders immediately, and I’m one of the people who says we have to close them,” she said. “We must close immediately.”

“The economy will improve.”

Klasik hopes Maryland voters support her vision for the future.

“If you vote for me, the economy will be better and we won’t have to deal with all the immigration issues. And when it comes to public safety and first responders, they’ll help. Take care of them.” said Classic. “I want to get in there. I already have a lot of support from members of the Capitol. I know I can hit the ground running.”
